Position Title: Sr. Perl Web Developer

Job Description:
We are seeking a Sr. Perl Web Developer to work on a permanent basis for one of our clients in the Nashville, TN area. This person will be mentoring a team of 3 other developers, maintaining and extending a custom e-commerce platform and leading development on new projects that arise. Team Lead will work with other departments to spec out and implement new features and functionality and therefore needs to be able to make recommendations regarding emerging trends and opportunities for improvement in the existing custom platform. This person reports to and works directly with the Director of Development, scheduling and accepting tasks and delegating them to team members as needed, so previous experience leading teams or projects is beneficial.

Technical Environment:
Core application is an e-commerce site written in Perl on a MySQL database, running in a Linux environment. Client also utilizes Apache Web Server. Big push for open source technologies here. Our client’s application sees up to 150,000 unique visits per day.

Skills Required:
- LAMP (Linux, Apache, (mod_perl), MySQL, and Perl
- Perl: Catalyst, DBIx::Class, Template Toolkit, Moose
- Knowledge of CPAN and the Perl Community
- Modern web development teachniques: MVC, AJAX, CSS, etc.
- Experience leading teams or projects
- Problem solving, teamwork, communication, multi-tasking ability
- E-commerce experience a huge bonus
