The high profile company is desperate to fill the position of User Interface Designer in Jacksonville, FL. It is 3 month contract-to-hire opportunity.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Candidate will be responsible for UI design on a high transaction ASP.NET web-site used in a multi-user, business to business, environment throughout the United States.
Responsibilities will be in the front-end; no back-end work.
Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and in conjunction with team members and product groups.
Enthusiasm and flexibility to work on a variety of projects are necessary, as well as the ability to rapidly acquire new domain familiarity.
Responsible for the look-and-feel, information flow, and the visual design of products within the application.
Will be responsible for building prototypes and the usability testing of those designs (turn visions into concepts, converting those concepts into designs that illustrate elegance solutions despite system complexity).
If applicable, will be creating any necessary art.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must be proficient in HTML, XHTML, and working within .NET websites.
Candidate must supply a URL website on the resume for manager to view their work when considering the candidate.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
ASP.net 2.0, VB.net, C#.net
Strong UI skills. Ability to conform to UI design standards.
3 years HTML, Javascript, CSS
Strong portfolio showcasing design/aesthetics
Cross browser development, IE 6, IE 7, Firefox 1.5+
Familiarity with AJAX
Experience with a graphics program such as Macromedia Fireworks or Adobe Photoshop
3 years experienced with the use of the Visual Studio .NET 2003/2005 IDE.
Experienced using source control programs, preferably Visual Source Safe.
Understanding and practical experience in the use of assemblies in .NET development.
3 years experience of Object Oriented Programming techniques.
Experience with custom business objects and collections.
URL encryption/decryption
.NET Web Services
Internet Information Server: Should be familiar with the structure and operation of Microsoft Internet Information Server
Display a high degree of inquisitiveness and an eagerness to learn at a detailed and abstract level.
Exhibits strong ability to work well under time constraints.
